| Monday, JANUARY 9, 2012: Our first program of the year will be Mary Ellen Shortland, owner of Creative Art Gallery and Framing. She will discuss framing techniques for pastels and show us a few ideas on how framing and matting can make your art look better and more eycatching. Perhaps we can get her to tell us a little bit about what her art patrons want in new art for their walls. |
Monday, February 13, 2012 - Pastels and Paper: A hands-on demonstration of all the different types of pastel papers and brands of pastels available. Here's your chance to try out all the different combinations of papers and pastels and find out what you like best. Garry will also demonstrate how he creates pastel boards using MDF panels, gesso and pumice. |
Saturday, March 10, 2012 - Lisa Ober Portrait Workshop: Lisa Ober will be conducting a all-day, hands-on workshop sharing her experience creating pastel portraits. Whether you are a beginner at creating pastel portraits or have a lifetime of experience you will gain a wealth of insights and ideas from Lisa. July 21st and 22nd - Cloud, Skies and Landscapes Workshop with Jerry Brown: Jerry Brown will be conducting a two-day (Saturday and Sunday) workshop to teach members how to create dramatic clouds, skies and landscapes. We are working out the details for this studio workshop and we should have the information posted prior to our February meeting. |
